100% Confirmation

...posted by Travis

Not that there was any doubt, but this past week's sonogram revealed, and I quote the sono tech, "the third leg".  I guess it is officially time for Eleisha and I to start preparing Barret's room, getting the crib, changing table, and a lot of other things I am not quite sure what they are for, but have been told in no uncertain terms, are completely 100% necessary.

The sonogram pics are really cool, but he kept his face covered with his hand most of the time.  I think he looks a lot like me [you be the judge on that being good or bad].  The craziest thing was not the pics, but seeing him move around so much.  We saw him yawn, stick out his tongue, and for about a minute I believe he played a drum riff on a trap set.  It was really cool to see.
Take a look at the pics... the first two look normal, but the third he was making a face.

Eleisha was not really looking at this one when she asked the tech to save this pic.  The tech looked at her a little funny and said 'OK'.  Later, we stepped out of the sonogram room and I showed the picture to Eleisha and she just about fell over.  I asked her why in the world she wanted that picture, and Eleisha had no answer.  In any case, it is posted for all to see now.

Not too much longer, and I am getting more anxious and excited about it, however, it will not really hit me until he is here.  After all, I feel no [physical] effect from this pregnancy and so I am just an innocent bystander right now.

post to you soon.....  Travis

25 week update

We are now 6 months and 1 week! Only 3 more weeks before I enter into my third trimester. Wow! We are over half way there!

Barret kicks all the time! It is so much fun. I'd say the best part about being pregnant so far. I've felt him move for a while now...but no one else has been able to feel him. Travis had been trying but Barret always seems to calm down when you put a hand on my stomach. Then, last Saturday (1.28.09) Lisa felt him kick! Just once.

Last night, (2.3.09) Travis finally felt him kick! 4 times in a row, really hard! It was amazing for both of us!

I'm showing a good bit...but I'm still in that stage where people are afraid to ask if I'm pregnant...just in case I'm not! When people find out, they always say "Wow, I couldn't even tell!" I am actually happy that it isn't that pronounced yet. Hopefully that means that I won't get TOO gigantic! We'll see.

I only have 2 more trips until I can stay home for good! I can't tell you how much I am looking forward to that. Travel is never easy...and doing it while pregnant makes it just that much harder. Luckily, I've been upgraded to first class allot, which helps!

Upcoming events:

2.7.09 - garage sell at Lisa's to help us make room for Barret! We have way to much stuff filling up this house, and we have to clear a whole room for him! Once all of the stuff is gone, we can get working on the room!

2.17.09 - Sonogram! We are so excited to verify that we are having a baby boy. I've already bought a good bit of clothing and I really don't want to return it. Oh, and not to mention Travis would be crushed...as would I! He is already our little boy in my mind. We are waiting to purchase the bedding until after this sonogram...just to make sure! Once we get the go ahead, that room is going to come together...even if it drives Travis crazy!

2.25.09 - baby shower at the office!

3.7.09 - baby shower in Beaumont! I'm so looking forward to going home and seeing all of my family and friends that I haven't seen in a while! I'll be 7 1/2 months along at that point!

3.28.09 - baby shower in Harlingen!
