barret's room is coming along

We are finally making some progress on Barret's room! We have all of the furniture in, and mostly everything set up. We still have allot of empty wall space, but we have plans for filling it. Here are a few pictures!

I painted his name...and Travis hung it up. We are both really happy with how it turned out!

Don't mind the TV on the floor. It will go soon, but Travis wants to keep it there until he purchases a new one for the room. That man and his TV!

I'm running out of room! We don't have the following even IN the room: stroller, swing, pack n play, bassinet, bouncy chair, or the high chair. I'm afraid of where all this is going to go!
Yes, I have purchased too many clothes. These are just the NEW clothing...the other side is full of used clothes that we have been given.

Possible coming home outfits! Assuming he can fit into newborn sizes...up to 8 lbs!

I'll post more photos when we get more accomplished!

32 weeks

32 weeks today!! only 8 more weeks to go! I went to the doctor yesterday, and found out that Barret is weighing 3 weeks ahead of schedule. YIKES!

The doctor was concerned, and wants to watch my blood sugars more closely, so that means checking it 4 times a day. I explained to her that I really don't have allot of trouble with high blood sugars, which creates a big baby. She said that it was better to monitor, and that I might just be growing a big baby! I asked if they would consider inducing if he was too big, and she said NO! That size isn't reason enough to induce, and that there would have to be other factors. But, if the baby is weighing REALLY big, I will be able to opt for a C-section. We'll see. I'm praying for an 8 lb. baby! I don't think I can handle much more than that...and I have the cutest clothes for newborns which only go up to 8 lbs! :)

I have my final baby shower this weekend with Lisa and Brooke, and I'm so excited about it! Once it is over, I will know all that I still need, and can finish up shopping! Lisa and I plan on going on a shopping spree the next weekend! woo hoo!

The room is coming along, but not enough to take photos. I have allot that needs to go on the walls...and Travis just isn't inspired after work these days to hang things in Barret's room. Soon though...he promises! I'll update again next week after my next appointment. I'm on the weekly doctor appointment schedule now. Lots of fun!

Here's me at 8 months today!

31 weeks

I had to go in yesterday to do some testing because I've been having lots of braxton hicks contractions, and they wanted to make sure that they weren't the real thing. They did a stress test to check his heart beat and contractions. Both were fine. We then had an ultrasound to check him out, and everything looked great. Then the doctor checked me out, and I'm going good. So, 3 hours in the doctors office later, and I'm still having practice contractions in the evening, but I'm not going to stress about them anymore.

We already have a little overachiever on our hands! Time-wise, I'm 31 weeks today. Barret is measuring 32 weeks 2 days and weighs in at a whopping 4.8 lbs. At 31 weeks, he should weigh 3.5 lbs. AND he is expected to gain 1/2 a lb. each week from here on out. That puts him at over 9 lbs. if I carry full term. OK. I'm a little in shock at that. I'm going to have a very serious conversation with my Doctor about inducing early!!

We are in the final count down now. Only 9 more weeks to go. The nursery is finally taking shape. We have all of the main pieces of furniture...crib, changing table/dresser, glider chair, and bookcase to house the TV that Travis insists is going in the nursery...just in case Barret wants to watch ESPN at 3:30 am.

This weekend I intend to get the nursery all in order! I'll take pictures then and post them soon!

Here's our little Barret yesterday. He finally cooperated in a front view of his little face. He DEFINITELY has my lips! I can't wait to meet him in person!

shower

I had my shower at home this past Saturday. So many people chipped in to make it such a special day. Amanda worked SO HARD to make everything perfect, and I couldn't have asked for more. So many family and friends came...we had so much fun. Thank you so much to everyone that helped and came. Barret is already a very loved little boy.

Here are a few pictures of the day!

barret's room

Update time! I'm 29 weeks today...which equals 7 months 1 week. Officially in my third and final trimester! I just can't believe how quickly this is going by. We only have about 2 1/2 months until Barret will be with us.

We are starting to get prepared...finally! I ordered the bedding and we purchased the crib and dresser/changing table this past weekend. Stephen and Heather came down and helped us start getting the room ready.

Heather and I went to Home Depot to pick out paint to match the bedding. I've actually never painted before, so deciding on a color was so hard for me. The bedding looked grey/blue online, but is more of a teal in person. We ended up picking a dark teal color for the wall. It was a bold choice for me...since our house is rather bland. I'm SO happy with the color that we chose. We left the other 3 walls the original tan color so that it isn't too overpowering. I just couldn't be more pleased with how it all turned out. Heather painted all by herself since they didn't have that color in the paint that was safe for me to use. Thank you so much Heather for all of your help!

Stephen and Travis put the crib together...as you can see in the following photos. We are just so happy with how it is turning out so far. We still have TONS to do though. We need to remove the desk from that room, move in a glider and possibly a book shelf, and decorate the walls. But we are headed in the right direction.

My baby shower back home is this weekend. I'm so looking forward to it. Amanda and all of the family have worked so hard to put it together, and I just can't wait to see everyone! I'm sure that lots of pictures will be taken...and I'll post them next week.

I'll post more of Barret's room as it comes together.
