4 months

Wow! time flies!! Barret is now 4 months old. We went to the doctor today and here are his stats...

19 lbs. - off the charts
25 3/4 inches long - over 75%

He is just a joy. A wonderful baby. He smiles and laughs all the time. Well, except for today. He had his shots today, and he has been very fussy because of them. Luckily, I know tomorrow I will wake up to his smiling, happy face.

Barret started sleeping in his crib at night 4 nights ago! He is doing so great!!! Last night, he slept 10 HOURS!!! amazing. He gets very tired around 7:00...so we put him down at 7:30 and he slept until 5:30 this morning! What a wonderful boy. I just pray he does it again tonight.

He likes to make lots of noises now. Most of them start with a "B" and include spitting. He has a lot of fun doing this!

I went through his closet this weekend, and he has so many clothes that fit him right now! I am going to try to get him to wear everything once! There are so many...there isn't any room to hang any more! He is one blessed little boy!

He also loves to jump in his bouncy chair these days. He jumps and jumps and plays with the toys. He is still a little small for it, so we have blankets and a TV tray under his feet. I think this is a toy he will enjoy for a long time to come!

And here are his photos from last Wednesday...17 weeks!

getting so big

Barret is getting so big! He actually likes to sleep in his crib. Whenever he gets fussy, you can lay him in his crib awake. He starts batting at his face, and then holds his hands over his face (a comfort to him). He puts himself right to sleep and then sleeps 1-2 hours in there for naps. Luckily, the video monitor that Brandon & Erica gave us allows me to keep an eye on him, and I don't feel so lonesome for him.

I think it is about time to move him to his crib. He touches the top and bottom of his bassinet now. He may be ready...but I'm certainly not. I'll miss him being beside me! Maybe I'll start next week after he is officially 4 months old. Or maybe the week after.... :)

16 weeks

We went to Austin for the Texas Produce Convention on Barret's 16 week birthday. I went the whole day and forgot until he was already in bed to take his weekly photo! Luckily, I remembered! Here's our sleeping little man.

Auntie Amanda (aka YaYa) met us there and took care of Barret while I was working. It worked out so great. I'm so thankful that I was able to bring him with me. I would have missed him terribly! (as Travis did).

It is amazing how much this little man has traveled in his almost 4 month life! New Orleans, The lakes, Houston, New Mexico, and Austin! a total of 10 flights!

I am still nursing, and it must be doing him good...he is 18 lbs. now! and wearing 6-9 month clothing! Before I had him, I thought if I could nurse until he was 4 months, that would be good enough. In the beginning, I had such a terrible time nursing, each day was a success. I'm so thankful that I stuck with it though. It has been one of the greatest joys of my life being able to grow this big baby! I will try to keep nursing until he is at least 6 months, and I wish I could go a year, but I'm afraid I won't be able to manage with all of the traveling I have coming up for work. We'll just see!

15 weeks

Barret and I went to Roswell, NM to visit Lisa, Brad, Aubree & Gage in their new home! We had a wonderful trip, and Barret was such a good baby. I had a wonderful time helping Lisa hang photos and decorate. Their home is BEAUTIFUL! I miss them so much, but I'm so thankful for them to have such a lovely place to call home. I just wish I could be there to share it with them more often.

While we were there, Barret's allergies were acting up, and he had a stuffy nose and bad drainage. Poor Boy. On the way to the airport to come home, Lisa and I were talking about how worried I was that he wasn't going to fly well. Aubree and Gage were in the backseat playing and singing, and all of the sudden, Aubree calls out "Eleisha!" and said "yes, Aubree", and she responds "Fear Not!".

Can you believe that!! From the mouth of babes. I feel that was God's message to us. We had an easy 2 flights home. He slept the entire time. Praise God!

14 weeks

our sweet boy is 14 weeks in this photo! (taken Aug. 5th). He is so big, he barely fits into his bumbo anymore. To commemorate his 14 week birthday, he and I went out into the front yard and took these photos. He is such a sweet little man.

Gama's Birthday!!

Barret enjoyed a trip to Houston to celebrate his Gama's 50th Birthday! We surprised here with a weekend in Houston and a shopping spree at the Galleria. Barret had a great time seeing all the family, and hanging with the boys at the mall. We all got dressed up and went out to a nice dinner, and fun was had by all....especially Barret who slept the entire time.

He was a wonderful baby during the trip, but he caught his first cold. He is still struggling with it weeks later. Poor boy. Here are a few highlights from the fun Birthday night!
