Well, after a not-so-standard 28 hours, our son is finally here! Let's do a quick breakdown of the past several hours.
Yesterday Eleisha called me at almost 11:00 and said "We are having the baby now". I didn't know it at the time, but that was not so accurate a statement.
I rushed to the hospital to meet Eleisha, and she told me that she had pre eclampsia [hypertension for those of us not in the know] and did not want to risk that getting to full out eclampsia. So, they were going to start the induction process.
So, they admitted her around 1:00 and around 4:00 in the afternoon, she started the first stage of meds to try and induce labor. Well, by this morning, she was no more dialated than I was [1cm] and was not making progress. So, they started her on a second drug, Pitocin. That was slowly working, and around 2:30 this afternoon she was 4cm dialated and ready for her epidural.
However, when the doctor was administering the epi [that is how you say it in the medical world], Eleisha's blood pressure dropped briefly, and so did Barret's heartrate. So the docotor, without a second thought, ordered an emergency c-section.
Before i knew it, in litterally 5 minutes, she was already getting prepped in the operation room. I came in several minutes later with not a second to spare. About thirty seconds later they pulled Barret out, and he was screaming. They cleaned him up and weighed him and the whole nine yards.
I followed Barret to the nursery, and later while Eleisha was still in recovery I was able to feed him a little bit from a bottle.
Eleisha was great thru the entire process... much better than I had expected, although some say my expectations were quite low. In any case, I am very proud of how she handled everything.
So, I am writing this as we are waiting on Barret to arrive from the nursery. Here are our first pictures of him. I am sure that once Eleisha is feeling better she will post as well, but I get the pleasure of doing it first.
Bye for now.

ABSOLUTELY PERFECT LITTLE ANGEL!!! LOVE HIM and can't wait to see him!
He is absolutely PERFECT! way to go dad on being so quick with pictures:) Sure do wish we could be up there with y'all.. LOTS OF LOVE to all of you...
What a handsome little man. He appears to be as perfect as you prayed that he would be. Watching him through the nursery window he just rolled with the flow. We barely saw a twitch when they drew blood, and not even much of a whimper during a quick bath. In fact, when the nurse was combing his little blondish hair he seemed to actually enjoy it. I can't wait to hold him in my arms!! Eleisha, you did so awesome today. You had an inner strength given to you by God, and you didn't even know you had it. I'm so proud of you mommy!!
He is so cute! Glad to hear you all are doing well.
